Blinds and curtains, both without taking either down.

Curtains and blinds are the largest cleaning surface in most rooms. They’re also the surface that never quite makes it onto the list. Meanwhile they’re catching every particle the air in the room carries. Dust, pollen, whatever came through the open window this morning. This fortnight, Oskar takes on a set of roman blinds and curtains with micro-dry steam. Both get a pass across the fabric without ever coming off the rail. Two of the most tedious jobs in the house, both handled without the tedium.

Steam first, vacuum second

Steam particles attach to dust and weigh it down, so instead of scattering into the air, the dust drops straight to the floor. Do the blinds and curtains first, then vacuum the floor underneath once everything has fallen. Vacuum first and you’re just clearing space for the dust that’s about to land.
