The bath doesn’t need a workout.
Bath cleaning has always been treated as a workout. Spray something on, wait, scrub with a stiff brush, rinse, repeat. What all that scrubbing is actually for is breaking up soap scum, which is a wax-like film of body oil and mineral deposits. Heat softens that film without any of the elbow grease. This fortnight, Oskar cleans a bathtub with micro-dry steam. The film wipes off with a cloth. No scrubbing, no chemical rinse, no ring left under the lip.
Once a week, not once a month
The bathtub is one of the biggest bacteria hotspots in the house. Skin cells, body oil, and warm water sit in it for hours a week, then drain through a plughole that dries slowly. Weekly is the actual maintenance schedule, not the deep-clean-when-guests-visit schedule most people follow.
